Privacy Policy

Overview

Briefday is built around a simple principle: your calendar is private. The app reads your calendar data on-device to generate your digest and never sends that data anywhere. No account, no backend, no cloud.

Calendar access

Briefday requests access to your iOS calendar using Apple's EventKit framework. This access is used solely to read upcoming events (titles, times, and durations) from the calendars you choose to include. Calendar data is processed on-device and is never transmitted to any server.

Briefday also reads your iOS Birthdays calendar (if permission is granted) to surface upcoming birthdays and anniversaries in your digest. This data is handled the same way: on-device only.

You can revoke calendar access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

Data we don't collect

• No calendar events or event titles are sent to any server
• No analytics or usage tracking
• No advertising identifiers
• No personal information (name, email, or location)
• No device fingerprinting
• No crash reporting that includes personal data

Data stored on your device

Briefday stores the following data locally on your device:

• App preferences (work hours, back-to-back gap threshold, enabled calendars)
• Notification preferences (day and time for weekly digest nudge)

This data never leaves your device.

Push notifications

Briefday can send a weekly digest reminder at a day and time you configure. These notifications are scheduled entirely on-device using iOS local notifications. No notification tokens or device identifiers are sent to any server.

In-app purchases

Briefday is available as a one-time purchase processed through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user ID. No personal or calendar information is shared. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details.

Third-party services

• RevenueCat: in-app purchase management (pseudonymous ID only)
• Apple App Store: purchase processing
• Apple EventKit: on-device calendar access only

Briefday uses no advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or third-party tracking services.

Children's privacy

Briefday is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
